If you've been watching along then you're sure to recognize that oh so distinctly sassy but sweet~♥ rendition that the most adorable Hirano♥Aya instills into her character Haruhi! as it carries over into the two offerings presented on "Haruhi Suzumiya new character songs Vol. 1!" And you just know that these songs are going to really kick~ in concert..well I'm hoping that she'll perform them live soon~ as her debut concert release was so so mesmerizing~! ………(゜∀゜)………。Hirano♥Aya has an uncanny ability to sound as *cute* as a button♥ (I've heard they're cute♥ by maybe I've been misled? (。ーωー。)。。。) an in an instant she can power-off vocals with the best of them~! \(^o^)/☆
Both "Punkish regular" and "sono hikuu wa kitto aoi" feature complete lyrics written by the multi multi talented seiyuu, actress, singer, idol herself♥ as has been the case with with much of Hirano♥Aya's latter releases~. Both songs will hit you like a ton of bricks!! っo(*´∀`)o!。。。with their deeply infused rock~n~roll♪~ adrenalineヽ(。´▽`。)ノ。。!!As these are "character" songs I'm not quite sure how they're being incorporated into the anime itself now in its second season♥....but whether they're alternate opening/ending themes, interludes, or used in singular scenes~ I've already fallen♥ for them completely.....hm then again these could be completely "imaginary" songs ne~...like as in being strictly "character songs" with no actual connection to the anime~…(^q^)!
In any case.....please enjoy♪♪~ the rush~~~! as surely we all need to let loose with a bit of pent up aggression now and then ne~? (*≧m≦)!!!
"The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya New Character Songs Vol.1" can be ordered here at Cdjapan.
If you'd like to hear/see more of Hirano♥Aya...koko ni click~! (please note that Hirano♥Aya's "main" post is at the very beginning of or bottom of this link's results~ and I apologize so much for the YouTube clips now being gone~ but all of the VOX video clips are still available to watch~) ^ ^

"Tomare!"'s (which serves as the ending theme for the second series...the second series opening theme song can be found here) rockin' composition pays homage to what this series is so much about.....pure energy!! and one most mischievous and aggressive (゜ロ゜ノ)ノ Haruhi! ♥ No matter what the subject matter anime series theme songs seem to always match so well to the feel and transgressions of particular characters....indeed not unlike direct extentions rather than aesthetic wrappings and through watching an entire series and just knowing the opening & closing theme songs so well by series end they can surely trigger memories of particular scenes, characters and plots alike even when listened to aside from watching the series~. So much is the case with drama theme~ songs also I think~.
"Tomare!"'s coupling with track "Senzaiteki taiyou no shoumei" (I hope I read that correctly! :P ) while a much more laid back track is nonetheless *enchanting* in its composition and in particular I really love the solo lines by each seiyuu during its verses which lead up to a chorus is absolutely cheery (^q^) and *cute*~! While most of the song is *bouncy* with a mid tempo feel....I also love so much the little middle break which moves to a jazzy feel which comes complete with a guitar solo very reminiscent of Wes Montgomery or George Benson~.
I originally posted this in April of 2008, but in recently speaking of early to mid 90's J-Pop and the sound that was current then during the post below on Manoeri's similiarly inspired song♪♪~ compositions I recently found myself taking Mochida Maki's albums & singles off the shelf for a bit of reminiscing~.
You may also notice that I've added a bit of dialog to the original post as well as 6 more mp3 tracks and a link.....I was having a bit of issues with uploading here to VOX at the time of the original post so I wasn't able to include as many songs as I would have liked to at the time....now finally remedied. =)
One of the first J-Pop artist' voices that I fell in love with belongs to Mochida Maki and after some pleading with a friend awhile back she gave me a promotional copy of her debut album titled "Haru Natsu Aki Fuyu" which stands for the four seasons "Spring Summer Fall Winter" respectfully. This is also one if not the very first-first pressing versions of a Japanese album release that I ever acquired and for that simple reason it holds a special sentimental value for me.
There's just something so aesthetically *pure* and *beautiful* in Mochida Maki's voice....in fact I'll go as far as to say it's one of the most *pure* voices that I've encountered in J-Pop over the years~. From a gentle clarity, ranging from a whisper in some instances....the sweetness♥ of her vocals also display a unique strength in them......I'm thinking this will make much more sense if you could hear for yourself as she possesses a really wonderful voice~. ^ ^
"Kisetsu no closet"
"Afternoon Tea"
"Itsudatte Itsudatte"
"Suna ni kieteku natsu"
"Anata no yuuki ni naritai"
"Watashirashiku"
"Popular no ki no shita de"
"Shiroi hane"
Being that just about all of Mochida Maki's releases are out of print and can't be ordered any longer I thought it was okay to share these. =)
The first pressing of "Haru Natsu Aki Fuyu" (top right) is housed in a slip case and also includes a beautifully shot 30 page photo booklet which tells the tale of "Pandora." Mochida Maki released 2 albums, the first in March of '95 and her second in October of '95 as well as at least 9 singles a total which I'm not totally sure of as I've only been able to find 6 of them and there could possibly be a few more although judging by the release dates between them just a few more is imaginable in the time span of her J-Pop activity that if any at all. To my knowledge Mochida Maki's final single was released on December 17th of 1997 making her music tenure quite a brief one but in this short time span her music releases thrived on great songwriting coupled with her incredibly pure voice which I'd love for you to hear some of! She has acted in a few dramas since and is now primarily involved in anime as a voice actress which is where I'd like to begin as the very first song that I heard by her is from an older anime which is based on the manga of Takahashi Rumiko titled "Mermaid's Scar" and a following movie "Mermaid Forest."
The animation is of an older style but the storytelling is well paced, heartfelt...a bit wonderfully creepy, and will hold the viewer's interest and these two features have quite a short running time of just under an hour each. The ending theme song "Beads of Tears" is sung by Mochida Maki and I'll never forget the day that my friend was playing it at a record store and I ran up quickly to find out what album was playing as I knew the song from the anime "Mermaid's Scar"! Then came my pleading for it as I wasn't the only one interested in her album but luckily she gave it to me! ^-^ I've uploaded a few of her songs here directly to VOX to listen to and since my browser keeps freezing after each upload and I need to restart each time (much like it does with photos which is why I'm currently using Photobucket instead) (update: more mp3 tracks added and uploading issues are gone! =) ) I stopped afterSadly just about every Mochida Maki release from this time period is out of print so here's the mp3 if you'd like it. :) And here's the translation of "Beads of Tears" from the anime:
"Beads of Tears"
Like a meteor
Like the fate it seals
My soul burns across the sky close upon its heels
As you once told me there's a land of dreams
where your life is never done...it goes on and on
Tell me that you'll never leave me, tell me without words
Am I alone or am I not?
On that day you held me in your arms but was it confusion? Was it an answer?
Beads of tears
Your voice is calling to me why can't I hear you?
Why aren't you near me?
Beads of tears
The rosary of all our fears
The prayers of our eternal years all disappear
Promise me we'll meet again someday if not within this life then in the next life
Beads of tears
I can't go on without you
Tears of confusion...can't find a reason
Even now I try to make the slightest sound
Your name's another thing that's gone with beads of tears
In this life we'll never love again but I'll keep you with me
Treasure your memory
Beads of tears
However will I get through until the next time until the next life
Beads of tears
The rosary of all our fears
The prayers of our eternal years all disappear.
I've been trying to pick out a few of my favorite songs and it's been really quite difficult as I love so many of them by her but I've managed to narrow it down to 12 (now updated to 15 favorite♥ songs).
"Hohoemi dakeja mienai" is Mochida Maki's 3rd single which was released on July 21st, 1993 and this single was bit difficult to find as it was the furthest back that I could backtrack in my efforts to acquire her catalog of releases....it's always really a feat that one faces when you suddenly find an artist/group that you really begin to love only to find out that they're older releases are no longer available through retailers so of course the best places to search are Yahoo! Japan Auctions, eBay, or used online record stores such as Otokichi Premium. I'd categorize this song as a *lively* folk/rock song~♥.
And here's the link if you'd like the mp3 for "Hohoemi dakeja mienai."
Mochida Maki's 5th single "Anata no yuuki ni naritai" was used as a theme song for the '95 World Judo Championships and appropriately this track is filled with inspirational lyrics as well as a very energetic musical arrangement. This song also appears on her second album "Ashita no iro" ("Tomorrow's color"). This is one my most favorite songs by her and I really love the guitar riffs!
"Itsudatte itsudatte" is Mochida Maki's 4th single and it's a really really sweet ballad and you can really appreciate the gentle nuances of her vocals here. This song also appears on "Haru Natsu Aki Fuyu."
Here's the link for the mp3 of "Sono mamade ii wa."
Okay these next three songs are #1, #2, and #3 on my list of Mochida Maki favorites♥ and the only problem is that I don't know which order to put them in! :P First is "Suna ni kieteku natsu" which has a nostalgic musical arrangement which is also flavored nicely with the distinctly wonderful sound of a sitar....simply a most infectious melody♪♪~!
Here's the link for "Suna ni kieteku natsu"'s mp3.
"Afternoon Tea" has a wonderful ambiance about it that always puts me in a happy mood! It has such a wonderfully soothing melody as is perfect for any time of the day!...not just tea time! ^-^
Here's the mp3 for "Afternoon Tea."
"Kisetsu no closet" is the second to the last track on Mochida Maki's second album "Ashita no iro" and in some ways I've always imagined it as a much more suitable closing track for the album and while I'm not sure if you'll understand what I mean by this I'm sure you'll find it to be a very heartfelt♥ song!! Hmmm...I think I tend to play this song more than any other song of hers as it's just such a well written beautiful composition. ^-^
And here's the link for "Kisetsu no closet"'s mp3.
"Popular no ki no shita de" ("Under the popular tree") is from "Haru Natsu Aki Fuyu" and has sort of a larger than life guitar orchestrated aura to it, and when coupled with Maki's of so gentle vocals the contrast creates a very *moving* dynamic~.
"Watashirashiku" closes out Mochida Maki's second album and if you love the sound♪♪~ of the 60's you're sure to love "Watashirashiku".....think The Beatles♥~. (*´∀`*)
"Shiroi hane" ("White Wing(s)") was the very first song that I heard by Mochida Maki as it leads off her debut album...and let's just say that it was love at first listen~. From the very beginning her vocals have such a unique sweet sound to them and I know I've been stressing this point so much here but I've just never come across another artist from japan with a voice so *pure.* ^ ^
I think I've obsessed enough ヽ(。´▽`。)ノ。。!!.....so I'll leave you with just a few more songs♪♪~ free of my babbling. ( ̄▽ ̄)
Again...as just about everything released by Mochida Maki is no longer available and long out of print....here are a few additional music links below courtesy of someone very *special*~.
"Shiroi hane" (from "Haru Natsu Aki Fuyu.")
"Popular no ki no shita de" (from "Haru Natsu Aki Fuyu.")
"Kanashimi nante" (from "Ashita no iro.")
"Birthday" from (from "Haru Natsu Aki Fuyu.")
I wanted to add a few more photos here as Mochida Maki also appeared on the cover of UTB in one of the very early issues that I collected when I first began collecting idol magazines but amusingly this is the second time this is happening as Photbucket is currently (edit: was at the time I originally posted these) undergoing system maintenance....so I'll try adding them tomorrow (edit: 'tomorrow' as in months and months ago...lol it gets sort of wacky when moving a post to a latter date XD). ^-^ I hope you enjoy her songs and if you have any thoughts on any of them please please do share♥ your thoughts~. o(*´∀`)o゛
"Super Driver" comes housed in an oh-so-cute slip case allowing for more cute pics of this multi talented seiyuu while her character's image makes an appearance too on the back outer packaging....both tracks are also included in "off vocal" (karaoke versions)~.
A bit more on Hirano Aya's releases can be found here in an earlier post.

but extreme *cuteness* can always be revisted ne~ o(*´∀`)o゛.....
In collaboration with the "White Album" project comes a most *adorable* and classically styled alarm clock! Right down to those bells atop and the little feet below this limited edition clock would make a most welcome wake up addition to any bedroom and while the bells atop aren't actually functioning ones you'll find something much much cuter waking you when the second arrives of your set wake up~ alarm time, that being Hirano♥Aya's very own voice! And the alarm is quite loud so it's sure to awake you! =) Four different wake up messages spoken in the "White Album" character of Aya's "Morikawa Yuki" can be chosen and the clock features very simple to use standard controls in one for setting the time...one for setting your alarm....an on and off alarm switch....and a button which plays through the four different wake up~ messages you can choose from~. The limited edition giveaway clock is new and valued at 7140 yen.....although customs was a bit curious as they seemed to have opened both boxes.....but who can resist *cute* ne~?…(^q^)

Driver picks for the (2nd) Bristol race will be made available after the results for the Michigan race held on August 16th are posted here. ^ ^

Both are beautifully crafted with even the tiniest of details being paid attention to with separate clothing layers down to Mikuruchan's chains being "real." A~h and they do have a bit of miniature company surrounding them from Momusu figures to FFVII's Sepiroth who was a bit camera *shy* tonight…(^q^) If you're a fan of the "Melancholy of Haruhi" Series both are highly recommended! ^ ^...although I know most wouldn't take them out of their packages as I always must do! ( ̄▽ ̄) *Kawaii ne~*!
So why the "gothic punk version" of Mikuruchan???? and when there were bunny versions or maid versions available????.......I think when Haruhi arrives it'll make much more sense then! ^ ^ I kind of wanted them to *match*~.
It seems that Haruhi is still somewhere in transit to here so until then, Miss Mikuru shall remain unreleased~. A~hhhh I know I get so obsessed and go overboard whenever I plunge into something new and *endeared*.....hmm it just can't be helped I guess with my nature~. (。ーωー。)
Before getting to those aforementioned *words* which I truly have to say....I've never ever imagined hearing from an idol/seiyuu or really any artist for that matter and I mean that so sincerely,.............I just want to say I'm now in total "Haruhi" heaven!!!! ………(゜∀゜)………。Not long ago I wasn't watching really any anime at all but for these past few days (Saturday till early this morning!) I've been totally hooked on Haruhi! After consuming all 350 minutes of the 14 episodes in the complete episode box set I ended up watching not only all of the Japanese extras but also all of the ASOS Brigade episodes, making of and preview clips as well. ^ ^
I don't think I've ever consumed a box set so completely as I did with this one as not a single link or minute was left unclicked by early morning's end and now I'm left with that oh so empty and sad feeling......like I've somehow lost a very close friend. (*sigh*...) so no more new episodes to watch I thought......why did I have to watch them all so quickly in such a short period of time?!!! (゜ロ゜ノ)ノ ........happily Harimakenji just informed me of a second season now underway in broadcasts in Japan!! Life is *happy* again! ( ̄▽ ̄)
"The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" complete collection on DVD can be ordered here at Amazon.com at a really great discount!
As this is a most well known series and I'm so so way behind on discovering it I'll refrain from gushing ヽ(。´▽`。)ノ。。!!too much....so just a little! Things I find so endearing about "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" series......Kyon's narration: there's something so warm and ensuring about his tone, phrasing, pace and Yes~! his sense of reality and relatable perception through it all~....great stories always need great storytellers ne~. =) / The offbeatness of the characters and all of those sly inside jokes and jabs which occur throughout.....some based on popular culture while others maybe just on common mannerisms...beliefs....Santa Claus, aliens, people from the future & psychics..oh! and the logic of physics! XD / Asahina Mikuru......all anime craves the pinnacle of cuteness and she's definitely all of that and beyond~! / Theme songs~...opening, ending and all of those in between...especially those in "Live Alive"..a most wonderful moment in the series and the more you can listen to Hirano Aya sing♪♪!!..or just speak!!..the better!! / Bunny, maid and all other included cosplay outfits! OMG! and there's seifuku too! ♥~♥~♥~! / Which then leads to a great abundance of boob gratuities and how Haruhi seems to love dressing and undressing or was it undressing and then dressing???...well either way it was worthy of a few nosebleeds I'm sure from the male audience! XD / The name or should I say acronym itself: SOS Brigade....brilliant!! / Supernatural baseball! / Supernatural video game battles! / Did I already mention maid outfits and green tea? XD / Snow White?!....yes the *kiss*! / Yuki!....so soft spoken and her much too calm ♥demeanor♥ all hiding what's really inside!.....really one of the best characters ever written!! (dead accurate "fortunes" anyone? :o ) / So let's see........characters, voices, pacing....oh and of course story line!! There's more but I should stop or this could go on for awhile…(^q^)
But what of aliens?? (・c_・;)?I mean...haven't you ever wondered? Do they exist? Do they eat? What do they consume? Would it be awkward meeting one? And what exactly does the director (boss) do all day???.....
this clip explains a lot!
Well

This is so much one of my most favorite animes ever!! I can't even begin to tell you how much it continues to crack me up no matter how many times I've watched it! XD
So many funny oddities and unique things make it so enjoyable......the writing so offbeat and awesome~! And just the way the characters are drawn is sure to make you chuckle but they're also a very important aspect to how the story is told. Dragon Half is split into just two separate episodes with a running time of approximately 50 minutes. Just be sure to watch in the original Japanese dialog w/ subtitles as the English track doesn't do this anime any justice....as is the case with all animes I think~.
Although Dragon Half appears to be long out of print, there are numerous sellers associated with Amazon.com whom have both newly sealed as well as used copies to sell!
Here's a link to sellers associated with Amazon.com whom have available copies of Dragon Half on DVD to sell. Please read the descriptions carefully first as they detail the condition of the DVD being offered. I ended up purchasing a newly sealed copy just to be safe though. =)
1.
Because Mink's father is a knight!.....
2.
...and Mink's mom is a dragon!
3.
And Mink's future father was actually sent to kill Mink's future mom....but they got married instead. Awwwww♥ love can appear so unexpectedly ne~.
4.
Because Dick Saucer is soooooo..............
..................*dreamy* ………(゜∀゜)………♥
5.
Because the King looks like a manapua! \(^o^)/☆............
6.
.....and Dick Saucer is known as "the sausage guy" back at home.
7.
Because poison darts should never be inhaled "accidentally!" :o
8.
And family domestics never looked so *cute!!*........
...........awwww......
.....isn't Mink's mom so adorable in human form! Now stop beating up daddy~! XD
9.
Because of how the awesome animation quickly and seamlessly moves between dead on serious!!......
.....to over the top wacky~!! :P in order to depict silly dialog at any given moment! ( ̄▽ ̄).......
10.
And how Dick Saucer sings about slaying dragons on his most coveted CDs!
11.
Then there are those questionable "fighting" tactics which are always abound!....(tickling?!!! no fair! (・д・`*)!!)
12.
And "luckily" Damaramu's brain is....erm very "compact"....
.......thus allowing for ultimate survival!...even through something like this!!…(^q^)
13.
And even a ferocious little fellow like this one............
.....can be seduced by....
........the old candy trick~! XD
14.
And a well timed (she was about it kick his butt!)....Dick Saucer ticket....
.......can save a life!.....
..................while making a girl oh so so *happy*! (*´∀`*)♥
15.
And how that most scary scary figure Rosario uses dry ice to make his.......um grand entrance.....
...and exit. :o
16.
To catch a glimpse of Princess Vina providing a really really accurate "description" of her.......
.........husband. Yep! the resemblance is uncanny!
17.
And how Princess Vina is actually a 1/2 slime which means........
...their first child is.....um slime. :o Funny the child must take after their father. Manapua, manapua, manapua. XD
18.
To learn how Mink's father is actually sukebe! (;´□`)
19.
And how sometimes even the best laid evil plans go awry!...........
........and through it all luckily we get to witness numerous diabolical & sinister plots deep into their staging phase. Such a rare treat! XD
20.
In hindsight though, using 3 poison darts does seem a bit excessive. :o
21.
And using the old "you have a hole in your pants!" trick will never grow weary ever!.....I guess. XD
22.
Because even dragon half girls have..............
...bellybuttons, despite the whole being hatched thingie~! =)
23.
And not even Cinderella's storyline is left alone! :o
24.
O~h! and anger management was never more needed I'm afraid!
25.
And that thing falling from the sky = stew~..........
...and dinner was never this simple! Find rock, throw with extreme force........and enjoy! Don't forget to notify the family...your relatives...and everyone you know! XD
26.
Because anything being called "The Brutal, Killer Martial Arts Tournament" is must-see-t.v.!
27.
And how many animes use Ex-Lax so freely?....the ensuing Ex-Lax dance is the absolute best!!!......
...expect for maybe......if you're Mr. Saucer who got it from an unaware and totally *innocent* Dragon Half~. =)
28.
However an inadvertent *kiss* of the one you most adore...you know the "sausage" guy...
...while initially seeming like total *bliss*.......could later lead to...
...your very best friend wanting that said *kiss* from the "sausage guy" for herself as well...in the form of an "indirect" one from your very lips! (゜Д゜;)!!
29.
Because love is blind, and not even a sword drawn towards you can stop true *love* ne~. :o
30.
And we were oh so close to finding out what exactly a "sausage spe..." no I mean "Saucer Special" is...if only not for his impending concert which calls~. :/
31.
And then there's the "dreaded" finger water gun! (._.;)
32.
Or your very dear friend offering to sell you to a complete stranger for 10,000 Gamels in order to get to see the sausage guy. Oh dear where is the loyalty in true friendship?! lol! XD
33.
And surely everyone can appreciate a little bit of perfectly timed "animated" *seduction*~. =)
34.
And Dick Saucer makes me all *misty* eyed ………(゜∀゜)………。Whoops! wrong picture! :P
35.
And never has the removal.....
....or zapping of a girl's top...........
....led to soooo much anger!......which can be....
........oh quite hazardous to one's well being!..
..Just don't forget!...........
........................to cover up~!…(^q^)

Nation's Largest Anime and Manga Convention Welcomes Japan's Top Female Group from Hello! Project
Anaheim, California and Tokyo, Japan (February 12, 2009) — With excitement
beyond belief, Anime Expo® proudly announces the attendance and performance
of Japan's most celebrated and top all-girl music group MORNING MUSUME (also
referred to as “Momusu”) to the nation's largest anime and manga convention
held July 2-5, 2009 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. More information
can be found on the website www.anime-expo.org .
(The rest of the article and its links can be found here.)
Anise & Cloves has an ultra cute webcomic site "nemu nemu" here! ^ ^
Recently I've been watching an anime titled "Comic Party" which shows the amazing culture that is associated with anime & comics and all of the hard work and dedication that goes into it.....and um of course the hilarity/cuteness which is anime itself. =)
Expos are enormous events and this in a sense will truly be UFA's very first serious push into the American market....so think IFC!! IFC!! (International Fan Club!!) :P Momusu's reception will mean so much with this upcoming event and I imagine it being an incredible one as their fanbase in the U.S. has proven to be ever growing and massive already at this point. To be able to meet/see them up close in an event outside of their familiar concert and FC events will not only be unique but will also allow so so many fans to be present for those that live outside of Japan where no FC credentials will be necessary.....really wonderful for everyone from die hard to the casual fan! As Momusu and other notable large groups in Japan have already made the push further into the Asian region.....so now it looks to be the time for the U.S.! ………(゜∀゜)………。♥
Please excuse me while I get back to coughing and feeling miserable......(´⌒`。)
While my ventures into anime are quite modest escapes for me, over the years one seiyuu (voice actress) in particular has always been able to capture my attention. Sakurai Tomo (written as both: 桜井智 & 櫻井智 the former being used earlier in her career while a switch in kanji was chosen for the latter part of her career) is best known for her work in anime (she has quite an impressive anime resume!) and radio dramas but she also released quite an extensive music catalog and interestingly her works can be found on several major labels including Pony Canyon, Warner Music Japan, Pioneer, and Victor who all represent large players in the market. Sakurai Tomo made her music debut in 1995 and her first album is titled "T-mode."
When you really think about it the transition from seiyuu to vocalist seems like a natural venture but while in general all seiyuu have voices that can easily captivate an audience it does not necessarily guarantee a well projected voice in music as well. I've always thought of the talent that voice actors/actresses embody to be quite remarkable as their ability to portray an on screen personality with such convincing feelings and nuances seems to always convincingly connect them with that particular character in a way that the viewer could possibly see the two as one in the same. And then there usually comes the day that an anime fan will finally see the seiyuu behind their favorite anime features and on some accounts perhaps a bit of the fantasy of the seiyuu and on screen character's marriage can be diluted a bit..but really how is a person in real terms supposed to mirror that of a perfectly drawn anime dream character? While this intention may have never been the point, it's really just a nice daydream of sorts to imagine your favorite wide eyed anime characters as having these captivating voices in...um reel ("real") life. Sakurai Tomo however is a bit different in this regard, and while okay she isn't a perfect translation of anime perfection brought to life she does have a remarkable charm and personality about her which embodies much of what is loved in the genre. Viewing her "Tomo Natsu '96" concert is somewhat like watching what an anime character would be like on stage if one had the ability to bring one to life...and really this isn't an exaggeration as her excelled vibrant demeanor and charisma are not unlike the charm that attracts fans to their favorite on screen animated characters both in a physical and audio sense. My Sakurai Tomo collection consists of twelve of her albums a single.... ...and two concert releases. Unfortunately the majority of her music releases are now out of print and her "Tomo Natsu '96" live was never re-released to DVD to my knowledge....I would just love to present a few performances from this aforementioned concert in particular as it really is one of the most entertaining, energetic and cute performances that I've seen over the past 15+ years of collecting J-Pop.....it's just so sad that it's not available on DVD. And just like any other idol, Tomochan has her share of shashinshuus as well....the one above is titled "Ripple." Sakurai Tomo's voice may be best known for her voice acting roles and she as a singer is a perfect extension of this but in some regards her musical vocals even more impressive as her musical genres include everything from cute J-Pop, rock, jazz, and adult contemporary. Here are just a few of my favorites which can be found on her albums "Cherry" (VICL-762) and "Can-D~Musical Selection~" (WPC7-10018)....for if I were to include much more of my favorites this post could go on forever. :P
