My attempt to try and catch up with technology...and yet I'm still behind.
So 3 days ago I finally found the urge to become more of a part of modern technology as my phone was looking like a compatible image to my prehistoric computer. At first this BlackBerry Pearl was going to cost $229.00 after a $50.00 mail in rebate but the salesclerk who was really helpful told me that there was a way to get it for much less just as I was filling out the forms. I was really willing to pay the full price for it but with a savings of $200.00 by using this...shhhh secret method surprised me that such a "loophole" exists and he eventually...uh...talked me into it! :P He said it's done all the time but with just 2 phones to my name I was never aware of it. So now the phone cost just $29.99 and I now have more minutes than I'm ever going to use. This is just my third phone and I'll keep the previous one out of sight as I wouldn't want anyone to hurt themselves from too much laughter! :P The funny thing is that even with this "new" phone I still probably appear to be behind in technology as I believe this model's already a bit old and with all of the touch screen phones appearing it's hard not to think that way. But still I'm very happy to finally have a phone that can actually browse the internet in some capacity and is also extremely user friendly although I still have much reading to do before I fully understand all of its functions. Actually the truth is that I know very little about it right now. :P

Nice phone there!
I remember the pagers, and I liked them... heh heh heh -'till I added it to my beltloop...
-I had my pager, my cell phone, my Gerber Knife/tool... -I began to look like Batman-without-the-costume!
I don't go anywhere without my phone. -Today, I learned how to send pictures from my phone straight to my computer, so I'm pretty happy right at this second.
-Hey, I'm learning too!
;-)
I must have been the second-to-last person to get a cellphone... Of course after two years I still have the Nokia with the monochrome screen and only the basic text messaging capability.
Next tech upgrade: Broadband and new computer in '08! Yuup...
they will? haha.. if so.. nah nevermind..
lols.. XDDDD
Most smart phones can sync with your regular email. I can hear the email alerts beep to let me know of your VOX replies in the evenings on mine...
Congratulations! They are easy to get addicted to. Does your plan have unlimited data?
You can't go wrong with a Blackberry that's for sure! Working in IT I have to mess around with these all the time and they are simply an amazing phone. And as for being out of date....Blackberry's don't really age other phones I've noticed, lol, possibly because some of the other models all look exacactly the same but in different shades. But the Pearl is an amazing looking phone and great to use, I envy you, I've always wanted a Blackberry, but for some reason never got one, the thought of email on the move is something that impresses me and worries me at the same time...I don't think I'd get any work done if my emails were coming straight to my phone.
I just saw Nobody Knows last night. Poor Yuki! :( I can't believe that any mother would leave their children like that. But of course some would. That was another great pick! I was really drawn in to the story. And to see modern Japan. The scene when they were coming back after burying Yuki was so moving, and not over played like so many other directors would have done. Did you notice how her death was foretold? The first time she got up on a chair to reach for something earlier?
I also saw the Korean film Oldboy... pretty wild!
I'm really liking Yuna! And the Princesses will love the video they shot in Hawai'i!! :)
Almost "ready" for "anything" and everyone... (-I am human, and imperfect too.)
-But, I know good people when I greet them.
My heart is heavy because I designed an escape-route for Nevada's Las Vegas County Hospital, before 9/11, and got fired for my insight and education.
-I'm kinda busy, but I'm around, k?
Wow you received the movie really fast!! In hindsight I found the opening scene to be so haunting as you're not aware of the situation until much later in the movie. It was so tragic and sad but I'm happy that you found it moving too. I was a bit worried since a friend of mine here didn't like it so much. That was eerie! I purchased the LE Japanese version too and it comes with a nice set of postcards, extra literature, and a beautiful gatefold design.
Netflix rocks!
Yes, everything is online these days. Most likely the url in in the manual. What model is it? 8100, 8200, etc?
You might find this book interesting HERE
I agree, my ipod = my life XD its my portable H!P collection
Maybe I'll get a cell phone someday...but by then they'll probably have something else @_@ (like those ear pieces that special agents use XD)
I'll have to check the music playing capabilities of th 8100. Music playing is deregur now, but many older models didn't have it, especially in "business" models. I think most Blackberrys connect to your PC to sync. And I believe that there are 3rd party applications that can be installed. So maybe you can just upload mp3 from your PC? I've never used a music service through the cell provider (some want up to $2.99!). Loading them yourself is a lot easier and cheaper, if possible. Amazon.com is offering a lot of music without copy protection now, as well as iTunes. So, live should be easier. At least till the brain implants come along! ^^
Blackberries are so popular that there is that "Dummies" (I hate that phrase) book I linked you too, and I bet they even have videos on learning it too. But yeah, messing around with it is often the most productive way. Figure out what you want to do most, and concentrate of that! :)
PS - the manual maybe be in 3 or 4 languages, so the actual English part might now be so long...
Yeah, it's a bad memory, and I apologize for suddenly blurting it out like that.
-I just suddenly thought about it.
