My attempt to try and catch up with technology...and yet I'm still behind.

I still don't have a cell phone. Never needed one. I'll buy my first soon, in case I enter uni and have to move away from my parents, not really because I want to have one but because they'll push it on me. It'll be the simplest one I can have though, since if I had to make my e-mail and RSS reading mobile, it would be better for me to buy a notebook. If I could access the internet anytime, anywhere, now that would take my internet addiction to whole new heights. Imagine being able to read your latest HM@ summary in the middle of an History class*... or sending e-mails on Geography... No no, that would be too dangerous.

*this is obviously not permitted
wow, ur smart phone looks darn cool!
ehh? hontou ni? it only cost you almost $30? sugoii!! can you get me one too? lols.. joudan.. XDD
Uwah! so cool! My technology collection consists of my ipod and computer....but sadly no cell phone. I don't see much use for them (since I generally hang out with people that have cell phones already..) and don't love the idea of footing the large bills my friends pay XD You're so lucky to get such a good deal though!

Nice phone there!

I remember the pagers, and I liked them... heh heh heh -'till I added it to my beltloop...

-I had my pager, my cell phone, my Gerber Knife/tool... -I began to look like Batman-without-the-costume!

I don't go anywhere without my phone. -Today, I learned how to send pictures from my phone straight to my computer, so I'm pretty happy right at this second.

-Hey, I'm learning too!

;-)

I must have been the second-to-last person to get a cellphone... Of course after two years I still have the Nokia with the monochrome screen and only the basic text messaging capability.

Next tech upgrade: Broadband and new computer in '08! Yuup...

I resisted for the longest time and most of my friends thought it was strange that I didn't have one yet. One day a friend at work told me let's go take a look at the new T-Mobile store nearby and it's funny I never thought that I needed one before but I left that very day with my first cell phone. Now it's like I can't live without it even though I'm not talking on it a lot...strange how it worked out. Typing takes a bit of extra time though and having a full keyboard would be really useful as some of the other models offer. Hahah I wouldn't want you to get in trouble in class! :P I plan on returning to HM@ posts in a couple of weeks as I have to work this weekend and won't be able to get the "new" episode from Saburo until two weekends from now. :(
I just know that now that I've upgraded to this model the new one is just around the corner! I'm always behind when it comes to technology, you should see the computer that I'm using right now! :P Sorry computer I didn't mean that! :)
Ah I was so surprised that I could get this phone for such a great price! But I just know that soon they'll be giving it away for free when the new models are released! :P
yeah totally great!
they will? haha.. if so.. nah nevermind..
lols.. XDDDD
[this is good]
Cool! Now I can send you a SMS! ^^

Most smart phones can sync with your regular email. I can hear the email alerts beep to let me know of your VOX replies in the evenings on mine...

Congratulations! They are easy to get addicted to. Does your plan have unlimited data?

You can't go wrong with a Blackberry that's for sure! Working in IT I have to mess around with these all the time and they are simply an amazing phone. And as for being out of date....Blackberry's don't really age other phones I've noticed, lol, possibly because some of the other models all look exacactly the same but in different shades. But the Pearl is an amazing looking phone and great to use, I envy you, I've always wanted a Blackberry, but for some reason never got one, the thought of email on the move is something that impresses me and worries me at the same time...I don't think I'd get any work done if my emails were coming straight to my phone.

You having an iPod which is still the most beloved technological creation in recent memory is something that I still can't enjoy. I did receive a little Nano as a present but I'm unable to use it since my pc's unable to run the compatible software. So right now I can only look at it.... The cell phone fees and plans can be quite expensive but I notice that T-Mobile appears to be the most affordable with less expensive plans being offered and they give you more minutes too. I actually don't even need that many minutes since I'm not on the phone very often but it's nice to know that I'll never go over. I imagine in the future you'd want to get one too but only when you find it a necessity.
Hahah...(tries to imagine DK with Dark Knight utility belt.... :) )...you were ready for anything and anyone! Hmm...I still don't know how to do that yet and I wonder if it's capable. That can really come in handy if you see something while out and you don't have your camera which I don't imagine people carrying around a lot unless they have specific plans for some photography. A few months ago I was behind this vehicle with the license plate: "KAMEI" and would have loved to have been able to get a photo of it!!
Is broadband faster than Road Runner? They claim to be but does anyone really know. Hmm...I thought you had broadband already, haha I guess I have no idea!
The technology cycle is so quick now days as it seems that just after you've bought something that's new, they're already unrolling the next better model! I think it's the most extreme when it comes to computers as every few months the "top of the line" becomes secondary and it's usually right after a friend of mine gets one.
Hmmm...I'm not really a text message person so I only chose internet access. The really nice salesclerk told me that I'd be charged for each one that I send or receive but usually only my brother text messages me and even that's pretty rare. I don't even understand all of the acronyms that people use and I always have to ask..."what does this mean?" :P I love that commercial where the girl is speaking in text to her mother!! :) I do need the subtitles!
Hello Paul! Now I know that you are very high tech and especially with the field that you work in! It's nice to know that this style of phone doesn't age too quickly and I'm still trying to figure out all of its features. Ah they don't allow us to use our cells at work so I'm safe from temptation but while on lunch or during break periods it's okay. :) It vibrates whenever I receive a new message, that way no one knows that I'm carrying it with me. What's great is that you get to use your laptop while at work!
I don't use sms that much either. It is a handy thing to have though. Blackberry is a good choice. I was tempted. Do you have the url for the manual? I'd like to see exactly what your model can do. Nice to be able to at least check your emails by phone. I usually read over and reply on our PCs though. They don't block Yahoo were I work.

I just saw Nobody Knows last night. Poor Yuki! :( I can't believe that any mother would leave their children like that. But of course some would. That was another great pick! I was really drawn in to the story. And to see modern Japan. The scene when they were coming back after burying Yuki was so moving, and not over played like so many other directors would have done. Did you notice how her death was foretold? The first time she got up on a chair to reach for something earlier?

I also saw the Korean film Oldboy... pretty wild!

I'm really liking Yuna! And the Princesses will love the video they shot in Hawai'i!! :)

Almost "ready" for "anything" and everyone... (-I am human, and imperfect too.)

-But, I know good people when I greet them.

My heart is heavy because I designed an escape-route for Nevada's Las Vegas County Hospital, before 9/11, and got fired for my insight and education.

-I'm kinda busy, but I'm around, k?

Hmmm...I'll have to check if there's an address for it. I wasn't even aware that it would be online!

Wow you received the movie really fast!! In hindsight I found the opening scene to be so haunting as you're not aware of the situation until much later in the movie. It was so tragic and sad but I'm happy that you found it moving too. I was a bit worried since a friend of mine here didn't like it so much. That was eerie! I purchased the LE Japanese version too and it comes with a nice set of postcards, extra literature, and a beautiful gatefold design.
(Imagines a DK cape!) That's really strange to hear, why did they do that as it sounds like you were being very helpful?
Yes, you are slowly drawn into their world, aren't you? I am still thinking about those kids... Masterfully done.

Netflix rocks!

Yes, everything is online these days. Most likely the url in in the manual. What model is it? 8100, 8200, etc?

You might find this book interesting HERE

I agree, my ipod = my life XD its my portable H!P collection

Maybe I'll get a cell phone someday...but by then they'll probably have something else @_@ (like those ear pieces that special agents use XD)

Some people don't want good help. -Maybe because they didn't think of it first.
i'm thinking of getting an iPhone probably tomorrow. Haven't spent my christmas money yet, and the new 1.1.3 features sound pretty cool. If I get it, i'll be happy to show it to you.
I'm really in trouble if there's a 240 page booklet dedicated to operating it! Some friends tell me just to play with it a lot and eventually it'll all make sense. I was wondering if there were a way to put your own songs on it rather than pay for it again in a compatible format. I notice that a lot of these download sites want you to subscribe on a monthly basis but I'm thinking that I may not want that many songs from them to begin with. Hmmm...but really it is a phone and not an mp3 player. Haha there's already an 8200 model?! Mines a 8100.
You're so lucky to be able to have your H!P collection with you all the time! Technology is so fast moving and amazing and I imagine one day you may just be able to think of someone and connect with them! Hmm...but that may mean planting something in our head! :O I think I'll just stick with the hand held version!
[this is good]
I just watched the first two episode of 1 Liter Tears! You better get several boxes of tissues!! So sad. Ayu is a wonderful girl, and that makes it harder to accept her cruel fate. It's very easy to sympathize with her family too. Don't want to give too much away, but I'm sure that it will profoundly affect you too...

I'll have to check the music playing capabilities of th 8100. Music playing is deregur now, but many older models didn't have it, especially in "business" models. I think most Blackberrys connect to your PC to sync. And I believe that there are 3rd party applications that can be installed. So maybe you can just upload mp3 from your PC? I've never used a music service through the cell provider (some want up to $2.99!). Loading them yourself is a lot easier and cheaper, if possible. Amazon.com is offering a lot of music without copy protection now, as well as iTunes. So, live should be easier. At least till the brain implants come along! ^^

Blackberries are so popular that there is that "Dummies" (I hate that phrase) book I linked you too, and I bet they even have videos on learning it too. But yeah, messing around with it is often the most productive way. Figure out what you want to do most, and concentrate of that! :)

PS - the manual maybe be in 3 or 4 languages, so the actual English part might now be so long...
Sorry to pry, it sounds like a bad memory.
Let me know if you do get one momo! The iPhone looks amazing and now you're making me jealous! :P

Yeah, it's a bad memory, and I apologize for suddenly blurting it out like that.

-I just suddenly thought about it.

I'm hoping to get the drama next weekend as I'm not going to be able to meet up with Saburo today due to an extra day of work....ah I have to leave pretty soon. I cry very easily so my eyes will be all puffy while I watch this! :) Hmmm...I'm hoping that it's possible to reformat the mp3's that are on my pc and send them directly to my cell. Hahah when it comes to most technological devices I am pretty much a "dummy." :P The book has been titled just for me! Thank you sooo much for all of your help and for being so kind! :)
I did buy the iPhone. Go to my blog to see the post and a picture
momo I'm so sorry that it took me so long to reply. I wasn't aware that the iPhone had been upgraded already and it really does have such amazing features! Hmmm...maybe one day in the future I'll be able to get one too! :)
