While I still find her debut single "Manopiano" to be her most catchy and well composed song to date, "La La La-So So So" comes in a close second and does so with a rather sweet and simple appeal to it. Clearly the producers pushing Manoeri's solo indies career have a very specific sound & image for her as all three singles arguably have very similiar styles to them generally speaking. I've been trying to figure just how to put into words what this image is that they've thus far created for her and whether it be slightly manufactured or truly an extension of her very aura....I think it's best described as a "girl next door" approach. In a parallel universe she's presented as a near polar opposite of what Gomaki's image came to be from her very first single "Ai no baka yarou" which already sported a much sexier image....and it was definitley not the girl you'd expect to see living "next door" to you.
Simply speaking, Manoeri's solo career so far can be viewed as a universally safe dream where all wota live in peace and harmony ......hmm don't mind me as sometimes such sweet imagery does come to mind! ^ ^ Still I hate to use the word "manufactured" as hers I think truly is an extension of her very sweet and pure personality.
"La La La-So So So" looks to be another perfect vehicle to allow Manoeri's impressive piano skills coupled with her ability to perform live....to shine through making for quite a highlight in the idol world and whether you love, are neutral or don't in particular find her songs appealing, I think it's undeniable that her ability to perform live while vocalizing is so much of a breath of fresh air to the genre and surely something to be celebrated and appreciated if for nothing else..then that alone. ^ ^ "La La La-So So So" for me ranks just behind "Manopiano" as it holds quite an edge over "Lucky Aura." The "bouncy" piano riff which drives the song for the most part creates a sweet♪♪ and genki mood and while not similar in any specific way I find it "reminiscent" of Paul McCartney's "Martha My Dear" and perhaps another Beatles gem in "Good Day Sunshine"...again not in a composition sense but rather in its feel and the feeling it gives the listener...definitely one to be added to my H!P favorites♥!
Manoeri's rather simple vocal style originally was something that I imagined she would grow out of quickly but with her 3rd single already in place I do find myself pondering on whether it's still something that I hope for or rather something that I wish would remain unchanged. Over the years of listening to idol vocalists I've had the pleasure of coming across those that are dazzling in their vocal prowess....powerful, distinct, unusual, but surely there's always a place for any particular voice out there as long as notes are being hit and the idol has a sense of musical timing. And in this sense Manoeri has already established her "sound" which is both distinct and with that very endearing. ^-^

I'm with you. Erina's debut single is the best one so far. I fell in love with her voice right when I heard her on that single first time.
She is the best thing besides Buono! that has happened for Hello! Project this year.
I think along with Paul that makes the three of us ♥ing her debut the most! Buono! also is definitely one of the very bright spots for H!P this year...I totally agree! ^ ^
Manoeri is shaping up quite nicely, I hope she does a high power genki song soon though ^^
The one thing I do wonder is to whether Manoeri could make it outside of the Indies? She's obviously an amazing talent, but I wonder how her releases would do? Well I can't see her slowing down so fingers crossed she'll do well!
I really want to see some more live clips on Dohhh Up! or a PV...a PV would be great!
