You know, I was thinking how they have map holders that let you slide down different maps? Well, maybe you could develop one for calenders and such? Every year I get more calendars than I can display! ^^ Same idea would work for posters too, I think....

My big idea is... have you heard of digital picture frames? Well, why couldn't you have one that was a calendar? Then people could give you the gift of a calender (the software) to update your frame each year. And you could easily switch between all your H!P calendars as the mood struck you! :)

And since it's just software, it could be emailed as a gift - no shipping costs, or getting lost in the mail.
That doesn't exist for two reasons really... It's too expensive. For a calendar, you'd need a quite large display, which would mean big money. Also, it goes against business common sense. If they turn calendar into software, it's like asking for their calendars to be available for free taking via bittorrent in the same day they release it. Also, it's not only about piracy... It's way too easy to edit images and make a calendar out of them, a lot of people would do it themselves, especially with all the material that's already available online scanned from H!P photobooks. That is of course supposing the "calendar display" would be able to show common image filetypes; if it comes with proprietary lock-ins, it'd take a little longer for it to be hacked. About a week, I guess...

It's likely this idea will be normal someday in the future, as hopefully display technology advances and their price goes down, but I think not very soon, and it won't be started by the people who want to sell the images themselves (they'll lose in the end) but by the ones who sell the display.

And I guess I'm overanalyzing a simple idea again... Back to the original topic, I wonder if they're doing something special with this cookbook. Maybe organize it somehow like a PB, with all of the members cooking and posing with the dishes and whatever else they can think of? Sounds interesting.
That's a really great idea and I wish my room were larger to accommodate something like that! It would be Berryz Koubou one day and then Arashi the next day!

I was thinking about buying a digital frame as it'd be a great way to display multiple images in one convenient place! I'm imagining that someone may just be developing a poster/calendar sized one as we speak! With technology moving so quickly this really could become a reality in the future. I know that I'd be tempted to purchase one!
Now I'm wondering if the cookbook is done in this fashion! If it were than I'd order the calendar even if I couldn't hang it up because the cookbook alone would be such a great item to have! Maybe it's their favorite dishes from "Mago Mago Arashi." I'm so close to ordering it!
[this is good]
You are probably right about that. The frame makers (like Kodak) would be in a position to produce software to let you design your own. As more people use PCs, more of them would be inclined to buy well produced ready make items like this, I think. Especially after they've been burned going to some dodgier sites to get it "free". (Very few new users have proper anti-virus and spyware protection).
I have heard the next thing will be screens that you can literally paint on the wall! Talk about possibilities opening up then! :)
[this is good]
As I was mentioning to HarimaKenji, they are developing "screens" that you can paint on the wall! Think of the possibilites then. Not to mention the space you would save for a TV, etc.

Kodak makes some nice digital frames. The 8 x 10 version (about $200) is pretty good sized. You could take pictures of the calender with your digital camera and load the jpegs into it from a SD memory card or the Wi-Fi it has built in! Plus, this model plays mp3 songs too, so your "calendar" could also play H!P music!! :)

The frames will just get better. Since people mostly don't print most of their pictures anymore, frames are the way to go. I have given several as gifts. HD (High Definition) TVs are another, if pricey option too. They used to have things like this in science fiction. Now it's coming true! What kind of memory card does your digital camera use?
I just watched Hikki's concert from Budokan! It was great!! I want to buy it now. She reveals so much of herself. I knew almost all the songs, and loved them all.

It was interesting, because they would quick cut to her wearing different outfits during a song, obviously from different nights, but it was so well edited and the performances were so consistent, that you couldn't be sure.

I am really loving the Netflix! Tonight, it's 3:10 to Yuma (not Yuna!) ^^

Glad you are feeling better! I feel like I've know you a long time already, and want for you to be happy in all things! :)

As Hikki would say: "It's automatic"!
Technology is so fast paced and amazing! I would have to make space on my walls as there are posters covering all of them. I imagine that this new technology will be extremely expensive just by the sound of it...I'm usually at the tail end of it when the prices come down a bit. The digital frames are great and I'm really thinking about getting one. I didn't know that they play mp3's too though! I just got a Kodak photo printer last year for my birthday but sadly I don't print that many photos on it like I should. They come out really nice though! I'm thinking of getting a new camera first...well after the new pc or laptop...still undecided. I have a HD plasma in my bedroom which I strictly use for only movies, concerts, & music videos. I'm too afraid of the possibility of burnt in images so I stay I try to stay away from programming that includes a ticker which so many stations have. I use my little 15" LCD for everything else in my room. "3:10 to Yuma" was amazing! It held my interest completely from start to finish!! Christian Bale and Russell Crowe were perfect for these parts and they really brought their characters to life with conviction and sincerity. The ending was really powerful but it saddened me as it was also so tragic. But Russell Crowe's character really gave the film closure at the end...such a memorable film. :)

I want to say it's...micro and I'm going to have to purchase it next week. I'm looking at a Sandisk card.

I haven't kept up with Hikki's career and I only have her first 2 albums and 4 of her early singles. I remember when I first heard "Automatic"...I was so impressed and even more when I found out how young she was! Her voice is so powerful and expressive. Budoukan is such an amazing place for artists to perform at and really only the most successful acts get to play there. Have you watched "Majo no jouken"? It stars Tackey & Matsushima Nanako in a quite controversial story about a school teacher who falls in love with one of her students. Tackey was perfect for this role!! The theme song is Hikki's beautiful ballad "First Love." It's still my favorite song by her although I know that doesn't count for much as I'm not familiar with her catalog after her first 2 albums. She performed "I Love You" which is a cover song from one of my favorite Japanese icons Ozaki Yutaka awhile back. I was wondering if she performed it at the Budoukan concert as it's such a beautiful song. If you have a chance look for Ozaki's version which can be found on YouTube. Ah I love when they edit different concert footage together and make them appear incredibly seamless! It's wonderful to see performances at different venues all in tune to a single musical track. Haha I'm typing as I read so I've mentioned "3:10 to Yuma" earlier. I'm so happy that I decided to purchase it as I can see myself watching it again and...again. :) Ah "Automatic"...I really should read comments completely before saying anything...a funny habit of mine. :P
Hikki's Deep River and Ultra Blue are not to be missed in my opinion! Deep River especially really reinforced my love of her music. Check out this site about her HERE

I really like Colors, Deep River and Sakura Drops... and so many more!

Here's the track list from her 2004 concert:

Hikari (光) traveling Letters Another Chance In My Room Can You Keep A Secret? Addicted To You [UP-IN-HEAVEN MIX] SAKURA Drops Sunglasses (Rehersal Scene) Amai Wana ~Paint It, Black (甘いワナ~Paint It, Black) Movin' on without you Kettobase! Wait & See ~Risk~ (Wait & See~リスク~) COLORS First Love Deep River DISTANCE Uso Mitai na I Love You Automatic Shiawase ni Narou (幸せになろう) B&C
I don't think she did the song you are talking about. Now I want to hear that one! ^^ I will look on Youtube later, but I can't at work. :(

We just missed her birthday (January 19th) and someone else we talk about has the same birthday too. I'll think of it...

You are right to be careful with plasma screens. Some picture devices have HD output now. HD has the resolution to show your pictures in all their glory. Or just wait to paint a screen on the wall! ^^ I have a 30" Sony XBR which was pretty hot in it's day. Looking to get a big screen when the Sony dies...

Glad you liked 3:10 also!! :) Here, have some more popcorn on me! ^^

"Mike and Ayu's Video Blog Movie Reviews - The weird. The awesome. The H!P !"

We'll use E.T. as our third movie reviewer... (he works cheap - for Reece's Pieces!)

Check this 8x10 Kodak digital picture frame HERE

I've seen them advertised for about $200. It will even automatically DL pictures from friends via Wi-Fi! (Nerd not included)

Have a great dane! (as a friend of mine used to say) :)

It's nice to see some of her older songs in there...being that I haven't kept up with her I'm not familiar with a lot of these. I think she performed "I Love You" in an older concert but I'm not sure which one it was. It's one of Ozaki Yutaka's most well know songs and I think you'll really like it! Hikki appeared in the music industry while so young and I remember for awhile her and Ayu would go head to head for the top spot on the Oricon charts whenever they released something close together! Ah happy belated birthday Hikki!! :)

A few years ago I had a 36" Panasonic flat screen CRT in my room and it was unbelievably heavy!! My neighbor came over to help...or I should actually say he pretty much single handedly put it on the stand by himself as I don't think that I was much of any help in the strength department. :P He looked at the t.v. and he looked at me with the funniest expression because it was quite large for my room! o__O Somehow the 42" plasma doesn't seem as large although it's definitely wider and thank goodness it's much lighter...I remember checking the manual for the CRT and it weighed something like 350 lbs.!! O__O I really loved that t.v. but since I watch a lot of movies I've always wanted a screen that was 16:9 and I was so lucky to be able to sell it to a co-worker and he also helped bring home the plasma for me. Sony's have such beautiful pictures but I'm a Panasonic/ Sharp fan. Once when I was trying to get an old t.v. repaired I asked the repairman which brand he sees the least and he replied Panasonic...and my love affair started from there. :) Most of my friends love Sony's though and I really can see why!

Hahah I'd be the reviewer who loves almost every thing!!
Yes, you always find the good things to say. :)

Sony has gone down hill I think. Panasonic is very strong now. I'm OK with waiting till "Old Faithful" dies. Big 16:9 HD would be awesome! I thin that Blue Ray DVD is gonna win over HD DVD. That would be good. One standard. Then prices can come down. Blue Ray can hold 50gb! 10x more than DVD. Plus supports HD. So, you can see eye lashes! ^^

I will have to find I Love You!

Here's something I found on Youtube for you HERE

Hehe! Recognise??

So, January 17th is the Day??

I read that Hikki really hated that she and Ayu were always pitted together. And she delayed at least one album, so as not to.

I got the Pink Nano 3G for the Princesses, and have already added their previous music, plus added videos to it also, with that program that converts Youtubes to iPod. :) You have to reccomend some H!P songs for them! :)
I may get tomatoes thrown at me every once in awhile though! :O With 2 formats it's so difficult for the consumer. A friend at work saw a player that plays both formats but I think it costs something like $900! No thank you! I was then considering getting both players but it seems like going so overboard. The detail in Blu-ray is amazing!

Ozaki Yutaka's "I Love You" is on YouTube...unless someone took it down. Hikki's is probably there too! :)

Ah it's Risakochan's 2nd shashinshuu DVD!

Hahah it's not January 17th! Hmmm...one last hint: Pearl Harbor.

The media and fans may have made too much of it when they released something in the same week and I can imagine how it must have been very distracting for both of them.

H!P songs...Hmmm....I'm going to have to think about that for awhile...can cute be too cute?
So eat tomatoes! ^^ Better to have a positive attitude, I think.

Some of the laptops are coming with blu-ray drives now even. I will have to look into it more. Like are blu-ray DVDs Region encoded like regular DVDs? That would suck having to find a "Region-free" Blu-ray player! I've got two DVD players, one region-free and one that plays almost everything else, like avi, mpg4, jpeg, etc. 1 Liter Tears fansub came as avi format, so I could just copy the files to a DVD disc. Then I could play the episodes on my DVD player or be able copy them or whatever on a PC. Netflix offers Blu-ray DVDs too now.

I saw this video HERE He died at 26?! Wow, he must have really moved people to live on in people's hearts after all these years! Thank you for sharing this. I am learning so much! :)

She did cover him! Found on her Wiki:

I Love You-- On her Bohemian Summer 2000 tour, she covered Yutaka Ozaki's "I Love You" as a tribute to him. Living on My Own-- On her Bohemian Summer 2000 tour, she covered Freddie Mercury's "Living on My Own". Take on Me-- On her Bohemian Summer 2000 Tour, she covered A-Ha's "Take on me"

With or Without You-- she covered U2's "With or Without You" on MTV Unplugged. Playback part 2-- A cover of legendary Japanese idol, singer, and actress Momoe Yamaguchi's classic, also performed on her Bohemian Summer 2000 tour. Boulevard of Broken Dreams-- She covered Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams along with Passion on the Christmas of 2005. It was available as an internet download for a short period of time.I have her Take On Me mp3! :)

Here's the I Love You she sang on the Budokan DVD

And the tribute from her Bohemian tour HERE

I love her more and more! :)

Ah, Day that will live in Infamy... That must have been a bit of problem living in Hawaii and celebrating on that day... I hear a lot of Japanese visit the memorial and many don't realize just how important it is to Americans. By then, Japan had been at war a long time. Most of the veterans have passed by now.

So, I did guess close to right before! :)

Risakochan has such a cute personality! Gotta watch the rest...

Finding the Princess H!P songs is an ongoing duty! ^^

I know that HD DVDs have no region code but I'm not sure about Blu-ray discs. I hope they're region free too so if I decide to get a J-Pop concert in Blu-ray I won't have to worry about the encoding. I heard that Blockbuster went the Blu-ray route too. Having 2 formats makes it so difficult for the consumer! :(

I have a little post on Ozaki Yutaka here on VOX. I'm so sorry I can't seem to get the link option to work here....hmmm....if you search under post tags: ozaki yutaka it should appear. Ah I had forgotten that I have both live performances linked there too. :P

Wow Hikki sure has done a lot of great cover songs with a lot of artist that I love too! It shows just how diverse her influences are!

Hmmmm...December...January....hahah you were close!....when I was little and I learned about what happened on my birthday I became quite obsessed with learning everything I could about it. I used to have a lot of books on Pearl Harbor and WWII...when we moved they vanished somehow. Haha maybe there was a yard sale that I wasn't aware of back then! When the recent Pearl Harbor movie came out I had to see it and then with the resurgence of numerous publications on this tragic event I was able to purchase a lot of books again. Ah Pearl Harbor really got bad reviews and almost everyone that I know hated it....hmm..I really liked it though. I thought that Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett were great in it and I secretly love the love story aspect that was part of the story while my friends thought that it was a bad film making. Haha I may be one of the few on earth that liked Pearl Harbor! I think that a lot of the ill feelings had already gone by the time I was growing up and learning about the attack that took place on this day. It would have been very hurtful if I had visited the memorial and had been looked at badly because of my racial background (I was so far from existing when it occurred!)....but I saw a lot of reconciliation in people's hearts and I being Japanese seemed to be okay. :) It's so sad that this happened but I just happen to be born on this date.

Now you're making me wonder if I should create a Risakochan avatar for myself as I've never had one before! She's so adorable!!
[this is good]
Yes, make a Risakochan avatar!! You've convinced me how adorable she is too! :)

You know, I've never actually seen Pearl Harbor(!)... I heard all the bad reviews. But I will see it now, because you like it so much. I remember mostly the song There You'll Be sung by Faith Hill (she's one of the few country singers I really like). I'm glad that things are better than they used to be, and that it didn't affect you adversely! I mean Japan and the US have been close allies since just after WWII. And you are right, December 7th is just the day you where born on. Certainly makes it easy to remember though!

Check this video! :)
I'll wait for her 3rd shashinshuu to find a cute photo of her! It's okay to tell me if you don't like "Pearl Harbor" and now I'm a bit afraid that you're going to hate it like so many people do. I actually don't know of anyone who loves this film like me....hmmm...haha that says a lot by itself! :P Ah I've seen this music video before!! This is a beautiful song and it can actually bring tears.
[this is good]
I already know what it's supposed defects are, so I want to see what you see. That it's about Hawaii and your birthday are some of the factors, I would think. Plus, I know that you give your whole heart to the things that move you. Plus, I can get it cheap! ;)

A similar song that I love even more is Tina McBride's There You Are. I'll have to post that one on my VOX too.

Here's a youtube of it... :)

There you are in the early light of day
There you are in the quiet words I pray
I've been blessed by the simple happiness
Of the perfect love we've made

Every time I turn around
When I'm lost and when I'm found
Like an angel standing guard
There you are
Every time I take a breath
And when I forget to breathe
You're watching over me
There you are
When I'm looking for the light
In the middle of the night
Searching for the brightest star
There you are

There you are in standing in a crowded room
There you are the earth and I'm the moon
My desire is to stand by the fire
That burns inside of you

Every time I turn around
When I'm lost and when I'm found
Like an angel standing guard
There you are
Every time I take a breath
And when I forget to breathe
You're watching over me
There you are
When I'm looking for the light
In the middle of the night
Searching for the brightest star
There you are

When I'm looking for the light
In the middle of the night
Searching for the brightest star
There you are
There you are
There you are

Haha in the end I may be the defect! :P Hmmm..maybe you really shouldn't watch it if you haven't already ordered it because the more I think about it the more I'm sure that you're going to hate it too. The movie is quite long too so I'd really hate for you to spend precious time watching a movie that already been labeled as very bad. Doesn't Elvis Presley have an album titled something like "A million Elvis fans can't be wrong"?.....so I'm thinking that a million (probably more!!) "Pearl Harbor" critics can't be wrong either! Please don't watch it!! You're probably going to think that I'm nuts because I love it so much.

Country music lyrics can be so real and emotional...sometimes too real! This song has really beautiful lyrics.
[this is good]
I know you too well already to think there is something wrong with you. I'm know that there are a lot of the things I like wouldn't make a lot of people's popularity lists. ^^ When you care about someone, you are willing to suffer for them, right? (kidding!). I want to know about anything that you love.

Some country type songs can just blow you away. Many say you grow to love country more the older you get. When I show up in cowboy boots, watch out ya'll! I'm glad that you like this song! :)

When I'm looking for the light
In the middle of the night
Searching for the brightest star
There you are

Most people really hated this movie though!! I remember a local news writer actually trying to defend it and I don't think that it made even a little dent in public opinion. It should have remained a secret that I love this movie...really please don't watch it! Ah I've changed my mind it's bad!! :P
Tickets! If I can get get that Sunday off///
