A look back at Morning Musume's "sweet morning box 2003."

these people sure know how to package!
[this is good]
Wow! This box is great too! Whoever makes these really knows how to appeal to the fans!
Such a great piece! This time last year someone put up one of the on eBay, I was so impressed with it, especially the plate, unfortunately I got our bidded, which was a shame. It's good to see the all of the items that are included with it. The little christmas tree is a nice touch, did all of the christmas sets come with little trees? I can imagine them all springing up when it comes to this time of year.
The plate is really nice and it's what drew me to the set whenI first saw it, the artwork around the side is just great, it's such an original idea. I really wish that they started releasing things like this again, oh well, fingers crossed we get a new lot of scarfs this year at least.

Wow, what an elaborate presentation. Packaging can be everything sometimes.

Ivysgrandkid the Japanese really take pride in presentation whether it be food or merchandise. :)
Hotaru I really wish that they'd continued making these every year as they are quite unique collectibles. I'll have some pics of the 2004 box set up soon.
Paul I'm surprised that someone would part with their box set! How much did it go for if you remember? Only the 2002 & 2003 sets came with trees but the 2004 set includes a great looking snow globe which you can customize with whichever member you like as it's interchangeable. Perhaps I'll put a battery in the 2002 tree this year as it'll add a nice Christmas feeling to my room. Ayaya & Nacchi had special collector's sets too that weren't Christmas themed though. But really nothing like is being released by H!P anymore which is too bad. New scarfs please!
I can't remember how much it went for it was quite awhile ago, but to be honest for what it was I think the price was very reasonable, I only lost out because I was asleep and didn't get up in time to up my bid. It really is a shame that they aren't doing any more of these, I can't imagine why they don't it's not like they wouldn't sell! Lol, Ohta could probably sell them all for H!P, I'd imagine that most fans would see them and just think 'yes please want one of those!'
Was having a look through the Hello Shop website and although I still can't see any scarves I did a glass collection, I'll have a dig around for the link in a minute, but they look quite cool, would love to be able to get complete set and invite people round for drinks and show the glasses off...although it wouldn't be like anyone would be able to drink out of them just in case they got broke, lol. They also come with a coaster as well!
Thank you! Radicalpatriot. That is so true. :)
Paul I'm not sure what sales were like back when they released these for 3 years straight. But I do agree that they would do very well today as special collectibles like this just aren't around anymore and it would draw even more attention to them most likely.

Drink sets?! I will have to take a look at those! Hmm maybe if I buy more than one I could actually use one of them. :P

Thats the link to the glasses, it looks like when visiting the site I must have always missed the page that links to them, H!P wallets, a Nono shirt and what I want most of all a Nono beach towel (well it looks like a beach towel).

Lol, the scary thing is if they carried on releasing H!P related house holdy items I'd more than likely buy them. Hmmm, I feel like a cup of tea, must get out my Sayumi mug and switch on my Risao kettle.

This release is so beautiful! I love the creativity that is (sadly) lacking in current releases. We can only hope for things like this to be more commonplace in the future! I can just picture C-ute and Berryz making some really interesting gifts! They would have to have a "Chirstmas set making DVD" :D

Thank you for the link Paul! I can't tell if those glasses have their names on them or not. They're a real nice set with the coasters! I'm thinking about getting maybe 3 of them...also a Kamei refrigerator would be nice!
mizunohi I really feel the same way! H!P used to release much more creative merchandise in the past and I may have even taken it for granted in a way, as I never thought that these types of releases would stop. You're absolutely right as C-ute & Berryz Koubou would be best suited for a release like this right now. The closest thing to this that Berryz Koubou has released is their Summer mini album limited edition which comes with along with the CD a pair of beach sandals and a beach ball. A 'Christmas set making DVD' sounds nice! :) If they included collectibles with a personal touch they could show the members' creativity at work.
