I was so happy that she finally made her debut on the Kouhaku after so many years in the music industry!! Imai Miki is beautiful!!
Yes but, it took me awhile to figure out why he looked so familiar. That mustache threw me. I thought he held his own in there against Jet and Jason Statham. That movie didn't do anything for me. What did you think of it?
I thought for sure that "Ashita ga aru kara" was before your time. Man, nothing gets by you. You were probably in 2nd grade when that aired.
I can't believe that was Imai Miki's debut on Kouhaku. I wonder what they look for when they make their selections. I understand Zard never made an appearance.
A friend lent me "Ashita ga aru kara" and he had it recorded on VHS. I'm so lucky to see a lot of older dramas that way! It was so wonderful knowing the theme song so well and then getting to see the drama! And the drama itself was a good one!! :) Another older drama that a friend lent me was "Kono yo no hate" and the theme song is Ozaki Yutaka's "Oh My Little Girl"...another artist that I really love! This drama was so devastating and the ending really broke your heart.
What's interesting about the Kouhaku is that numerous prominent artists/groups decline to be on it. I was so happy when Imai Miki finally appeared on the show!! Mr.Children is another group that has never appeared on the Kouhaku and I imagine that they'd absolutely love to have them on. Hmmm...Zard never appeared either and it was heartwarming to see the Kouhaku pay tribute to her on this year's show despite that.
